First colour tv{पहला कलर टेलीविज़न} -It was not until the mid-1960s that color sets started selling in large numbers, due in part to the color transition of 1965 in which it was announced that over half of all network prime-time programming would be broadcast in color that autumn. The first all-color prime-time season came just one year later.

National telecast was introduced in 1982. In the same year, color television was introduced in the Indian market. Indian small screen programming off in the early 1980s. During this time, there was only one national channel, the government-owned Doordarshan.

All India Radio (AIR), officially known since 1956 as Ākāsha Vānī ("Voice from the Sky"), is the national public radio broadcaster of India and is a division of Prasar Bharati. It was established in 1930.[2] It is the sister service of Prasar Bharati's Doordarshan, an Indian television broadcaster. Headquartered in the Akashvani Bhavan building in New Delhi, it houses the Drama Section, the FM Section, the National Service, and is also home to the Indian television station Doordarshan Kendra, (Delhi).
